About Me
Hi, everyone. Been looking for some type of support group and just happened to stumble onto this site today while looking up cardiac stress testing. It's going on 3 yrs. since my heart attack and am still feeling quite anxious and depressed! I had 2 stents put in and sent home alone to deal with my fears as I have no insurance and no means to afford a cardiologist. I am presently under the care of various doctors at a local "free" non-profit clinic, the only way to get all these meds. Help!

Support Groups
Close Coronary Heart Disease
I had my MI almost 3 yrs ago, with 2 stent implants. Still feeling quite anxious, scared and depressed. Looking for people with similar problems to talk with for moral support!
Treatments
- Angioplasty Working / Worked
- I guess it helped at the time, I lived through the MI, lol! But still a lot of chest pain, tightness, and shortness of breath.
- Aspirin Working / Worked
- Lipitor Working / Worked
- Don't really know if it's helping our hurting! It lowered my cholesterol quite quickly, but I really don't have a cholesterol problem. The cardiologist at hospital said I have a platelet problem. Seems to me my arthritic pain has increased terribly since the Lipitor!
- Plavix Working / Worked
- Stents Working / Worked
Close Chronic Pain
I was first diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my spine when I was still in grade school. All these years later, I am now 55, after 3 car accidents and frequent falls down stairs, I am in such constant pain it's almost unbearable. I used to visit chiropractors years ago which seemed to help quite a bit. But when I was referred to see a neurologist for the damage the arthritis has caused I had to cancel. NO insurance and who can afford $250 just to walk through their front door?!
Treatments
- Acupressure Working / Worked
- It helped at the time during my chiropractic visits, but I can no longer afford that treatment.
- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- Seemed to help quite a bit for a time but can't afford now.
- Flexeril Working / Worked
- Does absolutely nothing.
- Heat Working / Worked
- Never really seemed to do much for me.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Vicodon, hah! Might as well be a sugar pill!
- Marijuana Working / Worked
- Actually made my pain seem more intense.
- Morphine Working / Worked
- Given shots in the ER which did absolutely nothing.
- Naproxen Working / Worked
- Nothing!
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Does nothing for the pain, but did seem to calm down the restless legs syndrome. Also made me terribly dizzy with constant tinnitus.
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- Percocet helped somewhat but made me sleepy. Tylox really messed with my stomach.
