As part of my devotional this morning, I read this. It truly thouched me....and I pray it will do the same for others.
We must continually "trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5). We must trust as the storm approaches and as the waves threaten to sink our boat; but we must also trust as the wind and waves are calmed. In fact, we must focus on trusting Him even more when the storm ceases. In difficult times, we are continually reminded of our need for God; but times of blessing can cause us to trust our own ability...and forget.

I too, thought of my friends here when I read one of my favorite devotionals this morning - Streams in the Desert -http://www.crosswalk.com/devotionals/desert/
Talks about the hope that we have in eternity - a comforting thought.
Thanks for sharing the verse from Proverbs, it's one I continually lean on!

Thank you Ingrid, that is the verse my son brought home to memorize when he was little and I rededicated my life to God.Yes, you are sooooooooooooo right when you say we need to lean on God during the calm also!
KKzimm- Streams in the Desert is the devotional book I read everyday. I love it.

Thanks so much. I have a magnet with this verse on my refrigerator door. I need to start believing it again. I've been down so low for so long. I had forgotten that the Lord loves me. My circumstances have not changed much but my attitude has been improving daily. I do have times when I can't handle his BP anger but I'm trying to remember to thank the Lord on any situation.
