Type: Childhood Asthma

Seasonal allergies have caused me to have escallating asthma over the last few months. I've never had a severe asthma attack, only wheezing and coughing.

Treatments

Advair Working / Worked

Have used this twice a day for the last 5-6 years. Has kept even seasonal allergy-induced asthma in check. No side effects.

Albuterol Working / Worked

Usually works by taking two puffs, 30 sec. apart.

Cymbalta Working / Worked

Took for about 2 months to address the fog / depression. Took myself off it since it did not seem to work that great.

Elavil Working / Worked

This was the first drug I was given when first diagnosed. Dr. suggested trying Tramadol next, then Lyrica.

Heat Working / Worked

One of my favorite remedies is to put about 2 cups of uncooked rice in a man's tube sock. Just tie the end of it shut, leaving some play in the rice so it easily hugs your neck, etc. Microwave it on High for 1 to 1 1/2 min. and use anywhere on your body. Can be used over and over again. Works great!!!

Lyrica Working / Worked

Started at 150 mg. per day, but am now taking 300 mg. per day which seems to work well for me. Dr. is presently having me use the new 30-day trial pack of Savella to address a recent bad flare. After 3 weeks, am now up the max. dose of 100 mg. per day. Taking the Lyrica, too...these seems to work well for me.

Ultram Working / Worked

Took this for awhile after starting with Elavil. Dr. has weaned me off both due to drug interactions. Lyrica seems to work well for me.
