About Me
I've been living with RA (once JRA) for 16 years (diagnosed at age 15). I've been on high doses of Prednisone for that long, along with LOTS of other meds. I used to walk 3 hours a day and could function - now, I've been having to use one crutch constantly on a "good" day and can barely walk to the bathroom at my home. I went to college and became a high school teacher and am currently in my last semesters of obtaining my masters' degree in secondary mathematics education.

I've been having a lot of pain and swelling in my legs lately - so bad that I cannot physically walk. I've been to doctors and er's and nobody seems to know how to help. Thought I could get some advice here.
Treatments
- Ibuprofen Working / Worked
- Only take it when I have a REAL flare. When on it for a week or more, it makes me swell up more with fluid, mainly in my legs.
- Naproxen Not Working
- First treatment - didn't work.
- Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
- When on it for a week or so, made me swell up with more fluid.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Have been on high doses for 16 years it controlls the active RA but has hurt my body overall. Doctors say my skeleton will eventually crumble beneath me. Doesnt sound good but they dont give me any other options to stop this either.
