Vannie and I always had a lot to say to each other. He used to go off for days at a time, always in the same direction, and come back tired and very hungry. I used to kid him about it, and he knew just from my tone of voice what I was talking about...and do the cat version of a bashful grin. He really liked that girlfriend of his. Thanks for being so understanding about my loss...Vannie was not a pet, he was my friend.

You should see my peas growing all over! They love this hot weather and summer rains. I worked so hard on that garden patch last winter and nothing ever grew worth a darn in it until I planted the peas. The peanuts are all coming up too. This is the first garden I've had in years and years except for the containers. I look out the front window at it every day and feel good about it. I love living in the country, too, but the city followed me here and moved in all around me.

    Hi D,

I had a good time over the weekend going to two of my son's Little League All Star baseball games, Friday and Saturday . He was one of the coaches on the team. They lost both games but they were very close scoring games and it was fun to see the kids play so well.

I am a little better today, Monday. I got out of the house for a drive with my mother to pick up a wheelchair she had stored at my brother's business. I am going to use it to go out this weekend, Lord willing. I have some young friends that I used to open air preach with and they said they would wheel me to the location where we preach so I won't get to tired walking so far. I hope your tests turn out OK. I will pray for you that they are negative and don't find anything more wrong. You sure don't need any more problems to deal with. Take care and God Bless You, Rick

Here's a big hug for the two you sent me! I'm sorry to hear you were flaring on Saturday; that's no fun at all. And you're right; when it rains, it pours, with these immune system things! I'm so glad you're getting the insurance and can have more tests and things done. I hope you DON'T have MS, but there is more and more research on that (unlike CFS)so maybe there will be help for that. Saturday my sister and I drove north to Minot (an air base town)to see a supposedly haunted Victorian home that's a store now -- the owner said she didn't think it was haunted but she'd consider selling my books when they come out! (ND and SD, ghosts etc.). Then we went to Tagus, a mostly abandoned town west of Minot on old Hwy 2 -- my sister got really mad because there was road construction and when we got onto new Hwy 2 there was a sign for Tagus, but then no sign for the turn (I TOLD her when to turn, but did she listen? NO!!) but we turned a bit later and backtracked and found it; I got some great spooky pictures of old abandoned houses and collapsing barns. Back in Minot there was a place she wanted to go because it sells these little donuts she loves (as if either of us needed things like donuts... not me, thanks!). All she knew was that it was near a KFC and a dog groomer! So I googled and got a map showing the two KFCs in Minot, and the 8 dog groomers, and told her to figure it out. She thought she had, but couldn't find it. She was quite annoyed (she should have gotten the name of the place and better directions, but it wouldn't have helped to say so!). Today I was really tired but worked on my book most of the day. I'm going off-line soon, so am wishing you good-night and a great week! I don't think I'll have much time to be on-line Monday, and we're leaving Tues. morning, back late on the 4th of July (maybe in time to see the fireworks at the Capitol, although I'll just want to go to bed!). My dog will be staying at the best kennel; she wouldn't enjoy the long trip, and my sister's allergic to her, and we couldn't keep her at the hotel or my other sister's house. It's OK, though, because she loves the kennel and has "friends" there, and all the people who work there say they wish she was theirs! So I know they take really good care of her. When we get there she just RACES into the back where the other dogs are to see who's there that she knows! It's pretty funny. BUt I'm glad she doesn't get upset because I'm gone. So if I don't send you a message sooner, it's because I'm gone! On Friday my drier started smoking, so I have to wash some clothes at my sister's tomorrow, pack (if I get the suitcase out now Kimi will get upset, poor baby -- she's happy to go to the kennel, but made anxious by the suitcase... go figure...) and get my book notes together so that maybe I can get something done when I'm in the hotel room and my sister is shopping. I'm thinking I'll just pass on the mall if possible. I can't handle it; I think my sister, as she watched me on the way back from Minot, is starting to figure out (after the 12 years I've been back living here) just how easily I get worn out! It's about time... Anyway, big hugs, and have a great week!

I didn't get the painting finished...urghhh.I won't let myself start another w/o finishing the last.oh well,i'm exhausted today and need to go lay down, which I am.I just love to water my garden and flowers.Makes you feel alive huh? When I had pet koi they would eat out of my hand.My biggest one was the whole length of my forearm...amazing.Do you have koi?in your pond?I feel for you in the humidity!I used to live in it in Texas.Dry here in CO,but yes the sun wreaks havoc on my entire system.I go out directly in it for 10 min day for health but longer than that and I break out all over under the skin.Feels like antbites,gp says I'm allergic to sun,but I don't know.Sure feels like it!!How do you react?Does it bother you? Thanks for thinking about me,and I hope you enjoy a lazy sunday :)Be sure and get some puppy love today ;) Love,Jen

Hi Dannette, You get a gold star for being a good friend and so faithful in your responses to people. The things at home aren't much better but I did have a great day yesterday. I went to my son's Little League all star game he coaches on . They lost 9 to 7 but it was a great game to watch. They have another game today at noon I am going too. I will write more later on the other subjects when I get home tonight. I only felt a little bad yesterday and hope today I will feel as well. It is so good to get out of the house for awhile. I hope you have a great Sunday too. GB, Rick
