Close Bipolar Disorder
Curiosity. I am a Bipolar, curious about the treatment, success and frustrations experienced by others with the same diagnosis.
Treatments
- Depakote Working / Worked
- Could not tolerate.
- Geodon Working / Worked
- Took for 2 years. Stabilized my moods, but when I discovered that I had no memory of those two years, I discontinued it.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- Negative side effects: hand tremors and short term memory loss. Positive effects: weight loss and eliminated a large portion and severity of migraine headaches.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Took for 2 years. Worked well as an antidepressant, but after a time seemed to lose its effectiveness.
- Zyprexa Working / Worked
- Stabilized moods, but side effects were profoundly negative: weight gain, high blood pressure, Type II Diabetes after 2 years of use.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Decent results as an antidepressant and helps signifigantly with general anxiety. Negative results Have been primarily manic for over a year. I am reading that its use without a mood stabilizer triggers mania. Didnt know that. Maybe I should go back on Topamax?
