Close Kidney Stones
I have type I Renal Tubular Acidosis with severe iron deficency anemia. I've had problems with kidneys stones for about 10 years now.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Not Working
- Kind of seems like it happens even with a low oxalate diet, I still have problems with kidney stones.
- Surgery Working / Worked
- I have had three cystoscopies, one surgical stent removal, and I think three or four ESWL procedures. ESWL is the only thing effective for me; I would get severe kidney infections and end up hospitalized after cystoscopies and stent insertion.
Close Renal Tubular Acidosis (RTA)
I was diagnosed six years ago with kidney stones, two years ago RTA type I. I don't know anyone else dealing with this.
Treatments

- I have had three cystoscopies one surgical stent removal and three or four ESWL procedures. The ESWL is most effective. I have had severe kidney infections after cystoscopies and stent insertion where it required hospitalization.
Open Military Families
My dad did 24 1/2 years in, retired when I was 18. I've also been engaged to a sailor for about the past two years. He's currently on deployment in South America. I don't have many friends with ties to the military.
Open Hyperthyroidism
I'm curious, and am here seeking information. I recently had a blood test, and either my throid or parathyroid glands are overactive. I start seeing an Endocrinologist in September about it.
Open Hyperparathyroidism
Recently diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism, and I begin seeing an endocrinologist in 9/09. I have type I Renal Tubular Acidosis, and I think this might be what's causing it.
