This was a great way for family to come together share the pain ans also be a small part of creating a solution. It was educational, inspiring and social. And of course, I enjoyed the exercise. I can definitely see myself doing this again. I also am interested in more breast care specific walks. I had this thought today that even though I don't work in a healing profession or public service. I can in my own way help people and perform a public service by doing my work at a challenging level. That was one thing that I admired about your choice of work and you was that you engaged in and were content in challenging work. Putting your all into something feels good. It may be more risky but nothing ventured nothing gained, right? Right.
Well mom, we're all going to be thinking about you today of course. It's the ACS 2009 South Portland relay for life started by Rachel Coleman and Mary Desalle. Another co-worker, Peter will be there as well. Mary must really like you because this is the second walk she's participated with you. A lot of people are coming you for you, at least 15 people. I invited
everybody to be a part of this. I didn't raise a lot of money. But I know you weren't really concerned about that. I did send notes to all the family to let them play some part in this movement. There's a scary amount of cancer in your family and the awareness factor is huge. I'm hoping Gram will walk the survivor's lap, she wants to bring Rainie. Annie called early this morning before work and wished us luck. So here's the total Mary, Rachel, their daughter, Peter, Tyler, Jane M Richmond, Gwen, Bill, Gabe, Bryan, Ryan Doyle, Tyler Philips and me. Allie's kicking ass at school and preparing for finals for her first semester in the PTA program. She will do you proud as will I and Tyler. I still need to pick out what to wear. I'd love to politicize this a little with a little pink ribbon sash that says "Single payer please". Anyway, I love and miss you so much every day and I'm a changed person from knowing you. I will do much more good as a result of knowing you!!

Hi Mom,
