I love children. After graduating college in 1978, I worked as a photographer for an ad agency. Got married, had 2 beautiful girls, got divorced and was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. I survived that and was able to raise my girls on my own. Soon after I owned and operated 3 Gymboree franchises. Sold them in 2004 and returned to college to study Speech pathology. I worked in pediatric speech for a short time and then I dicovered that I had leukemia. Ouch! After a grueling bone marrow transplant I am alive and able to enjoy my daughter's college graduation. I am a survivor of many sorts.

I survived Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 1988 and then I was diagnosed with ALL in 2007. I endured a grueling but successful bone marrow transplant and while I am in remission, my body is that of an elderly woman. I am 52. I am left with some permanent and devastating side effects mostly from osteoperosis that I developed during treatments. I wondered if anyone else has had the same or similar experience.
I was blown away to read about the use of Fosamax. After a bone marrow transplant from leukemia, I am left with severe osteoporosis. I have 7 fractured vertebra and because of that my torso collapsed and my spine is now deformed.I can walk now but with a spine brace. Anyway, enough of my bio - I take Fosamax and did not know anything about the dental risks. Please fill me in about that and any other information that might be helpful to me regarding osteoporosis. Thanks!
