you have a tough road ahead of you. I quit after 25 yrs........was not easy. If you can get any aids to help, I would recommend it. You definitely have some challenges to face. Just remember we will always be her for support.

They have a prescription pill out now that my friend used and she smoke for 35 years and quit. She said they worked wonderful. I'll find out what they were for you and you could see if you maybe could try them.

Varenicline might be useful to explore with the quitting smoking. Get some ongiong support to check on mental health if you decide to do this using this drug

Hello sweet Lady, I've just read in the hep c community, that the nodule on your lung is defiitely cancer.
So sorry to hear that it was confirm to be cancerous.
Yes, both your liver and lung specialist should join together and compare notes, before going ahead with your surgery.
I'm glad you found it before being exposed to the combo treatment for hep c.
When I did my 48 weeks of combo tx, I got a pneumonia, and had a nodule on one of my lungs, after many steroids, 2 CT Scans, 4 x-rays, one year later, it had dissapeared.
I have done a lot of research at the time, and they say they can tell by the CT if it is granulated or not, and one of them means non cancerous, or I should say benign.
I was so relieved, so I know how scared you must be my love.
Please know that I will be here for you all the way.
As for doing combo tx for your liver, I do believe it would be best to put this treatment for hep c on the back burner.
For now, and I would advice for a few years, until your positive, you are healed up for good re: your lung.
These treatment for hep c, tends to wake up all kinds of pre-existing health issues, so for now please wait for the hep c tx.
Since doing the 11 months combo treatment, sure I no longer have hep c, for over 5.5 years now, but I had pre-existing health issues that turned into bigger issues after being exposed to the inteferon for a year.
So doing this type of treatment, you must make sure you do not have existing health problems.
I'll just give you an example in my case, I had asthma, post tx like I told you, I contracted a pneumonia, and was really sick for one year, my asthma graduated to emphysema, and COPD, "Chronic Obstructive Pulmunary Disease", I will die from it, unless I get into a freak accident, and die first of that, so better care for this lung nodule, and wait on getting treated a few years, when everything is in remission.
Good luck my friend,
Mckenzie
One day at the time.
