I originally tried Elidel and Protopic when they first came out in 2000 and saw no improvement with my eczema so I stopped using them. Last year my Dr gave me an rx for Protopic again and I really haven't had bad flare-ups since. If I do have a little flare-up he said to mix a little fluocinonide with it. It works so well. Last August, after having strep throat, I noticed a lymph node in my right thigh was swollen and tender. To make a long story short, I ended up having the lymph node surgically removed to biopsy and check for lymphoma. No lymphoma was found but I still have axillary pain and some small swollen lymph nodes. Just yesterday I saw the lawsuit from 2005 2007 for Protopic causing lymphoma and skin cancer. It scared me to death. I'm planning on seeing both my dermatologist and PCP next week and ask them all about it. Is it just a coincidence about my swollen lymph nodes and Protopic? I hope so because I don't know what else to do for my eczema. I have tried everything avalable and this worked the best for me. I have stopped using it until I talk to my Drs. Just make sure you really talk to your Dr about side effects.

I'm 53 years old , 52 and 1/2 of which i'm suffering from eczema.Corticosteroïd treatment does'n help anymore, only if I have a severe outbreak or flare. That flare shows mostly in a red, swollen face, neck, swollen eye-lids.I've had UVA ( light cabine ) treatment and it bettered. But now it's back and they gonna treat me with protopic. That's why I want to meet people who suffer from the same atopic syndrome ( rhinitis, conjunctivitis, light asthma and of course the damn eczema )

      Treatments

      Betamethasone (Topical) Somewhat Helpful
only eases the infection of the skin, but not useful on a long term base
      Eucerin Somewhat Helpful
      Hydrocortisone Somewhat Helpful
only to ease the infection, but it doesn't heal or control the eczema
