Close Rheumatoid Arthritis

RA type sympotoms & reynauds started in late 2007. Was diagnosed with RA April of 2008. Had somewhat of a remission (minor & rare flares) during the summer 2008, but symptoms have now returned with a vengance. Was taking plaquenil and methotrexate along with folic acid and Leucovor. Methotrexate seemed to be making me nauseated & had virtually no energy. In August doctor switched me to 1/2 dose of Plaquenil & changed me from Methotrexate to Arava. So far my energy level is much improved.

Treatments

Arava Somewhat Helpful

I have slightly more pain & swelling than with Methotrexate, but way worth it because I have so much more energy & less nausea.

Folic Acid Somewhat Helpful

Taking to counter the effects of the arava.

Plaquenil Somewhat Helpful

Taking it from the beginning and still on it. Believe it has reduced the swelling in hands.

Voltaren Somewhat Helpful

Have some sample tubes. Have used sparingly on joints with decrease of pain.
