sick Mood
Thursday, November 12, 2009

I'm home sick since last Thursday. Went to the Drs. yesterday and -just as I susspected I have the H1N1 flu. wow this has really knocked me down off my feet hard. On top of that I also have broncitus. Feeling like I ran under the bus.

My surgoens appointment is on the 25th so I should be getting a date soon. I'm so wanting this all to change, I was told at the initial visit that the process at thier clinic take 6-8 months. They were not kidding either.

I changed my picture today, because that is me, I live big, live happy and most of all I live loud. I was at my nephews wedding in upper state Vt, it had snowed during the outside wedding and was beautiful. I was flying and ready to party. This picture was taken by my 28 yr old son and he said that it captured all of me and he will treasure the photo forever. Nice kids I have, they mean the world to me, I'm so proud that they have grown into such fantastic beings. Well enough of my babbling and ranting, I'm heading back to bed for a nap.

Poor baby, hope you feel better soon. I noticed your picture in a post earlier, and thought how carefree and fun you looked. What a wonderful pic and what a wonderful thing for your son to say.

    Take care of yourself, Teri

OK so I have delt with my two sisters, one has totally come around and is so much more educated. The other one, well I have told her that is what I need to do for me and I really do not want to dicuss it with her any longer. All has moved forward since then. I am sooo looking forward to this all hapening for me. I have passed two quiz's for nutrition, got all my viatiams bought ahead for at least the first 4 mths (had extra funds) and am looking forward to not fitting in the shorts that I wore this past summer EVER AGAIN!!! I am waiting for the surgeons meeting at the end of November! then hopefully I will be done within the month of December. Yes No cookie baking for me this christmas!! My husband is so much my best friend, he is all about whatever I need to be heathier. I have been walking 6 days a week and getting in about 3 miles each day. It's really a pleasure to do because we live at the beach on the east coast and the weather has been incredilble this summer. I so want to be a thinner person, I think about this everyday of my life. Can't wait to see who looks back at me in the mirror about 1 yr from now. I hope she's who I think that I am inside already.

My first thoughts Mood
Friday, June 12, 2009 | A Positive story
EmbarassedSo here I am finally deciding to do something obout myself. I have been through allot of different surgeries because I have Lupus and RHA. I have been finally telling people that I am going to be having a gastric bypass. the responce is anywhere from, hopefully it will help your jionts, to why you don't need it??? I have two sisters who are both against it and said that they can not support me. This is the only uncomfortable psrt of the whole trip so far. All others are very supportavie. I keep thinking that maybe I need to prove to my sisters that this is the best chioce for me, wait and see!!! However they do not talk to me about it at all. I hope to have the surgery in Sept or Oct. Right know I am 268 lbs and very unbcomfortable in my cloths and myself. This is the heaviest that I have been in 18 yrs.I found this support group and have been reading daily for about a week. I think that it is terrific support!!! Looking forward to my new changes.

    Hi NannieLee,

How brave of you to chart this course without the support of you sisters. I think this could be an answer for you. Last year my mother had two total knee replacements (Jan & Oct), this year my sister started taking meds for diabetes, and in a few weeks all three of us are have gastric bypass. I know my mother thinks now, if she had the RNY sooner she could have held off the knee replacements until she was older. Hopefully for me I can battle obesity before comorbidities develop. I have been researching this surgery for about a year and in so many cases it resolves so many health problems. Find the support you need to keep moving in the right direction, and your family will come around when they see your success. At this point they are probably just scared for you.

    all the best!

Thank you, it's clearly tuff when we get togather. My brother in law told me that "He thinks that I am the best looking of all my sisters" My husband said "why should that matter, she wants to be healthier" Then an argument started about why should she bother etc.... Ahhh it's hard to listen to this stuff ha?
