You know, I have had a wonderful, happy marriage and I feel quite the same as you. I, too, feel guilty at times. Ken was having some problems with his heart and I am refusing to take him to a cardiologist. What is the point? A heart attack is much kinder in my eyes than Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is absolutely not how I want to spend my retirement, but it is what it is. I am going to try very hard to still have some quality of life. I do not want Alzheimer's to kill both of us. I absolutely hate Alzheimer's. Complain all you want. I don't care and I certainly understand how you feel. It is truly the caretakers that take the brunt of this ugly disease.

Oh, absolutely, you can join the party. I will bring the best baked chicken you have ever tasted. My sister-in-law fixed the best chicken I have ever tasted and I will ask her how she did it. This will be really fun!
I think my husband is probably about where yours is. I am thinking between stage 4 and stage 5. Somewhere between mild to medium. He has had it for a long time and is declining very slowly. Our doctor told me when he goes he will go quickly. I am not looking forward to that. We are actually visiting our doctor today. My husband is part of a research study of a new medication for Phizer. We go to the University of Utah Medical Center for the study. I should have a better idea as to what stage he is in. I learned about the stages from this group. It is on the Alzheimers"s.org website.
Where are you located? How old is your husband. How long have you know about his Alzheimers? Does he need constant care now? I hate Alzheimer's. I want my husband back!
