Close ADHD / ADD
Diagnosed with ADD in '05. Diagnosed with ADHD in June 2009. Scored high in impulsivity. I am also a recoving sex/porn addict. Just trying to get my life back on track with the help of God this time.
Treatments
- Adderall Too Soon to Tell
- Started Adderall 5mg on 7/9/09. So far within the first two hours, I feel more focused. Not as much "noise" in my head.
- Paxil Not Working
- Broke out in a horrible rash. I did not like Paxil at all. I felt more anxious and depressed. Not to mention the sexual side effects were not worth it.
- Strattera Somewhat Helpful
- I took it for a few months. It really helped with focusing but the sexual side effects were horrible.
- Concerta Working / Worked
- I have been on 36 mg for around two weeks. I find it works better than Adderall XR 20 mg. I actually have an appetite and the sexual side affects are not there. I am getting used to being so focused. I find myself spending hours to finish up a project and not getting distracted. Really the only downside is that I seem to get my daily headache. It really isn't that bad though. It is better than feeling my chest squeeze when I was on Adderall XR.
Close Sex / Pornography Addiction
I am a recovering sex/porn addict.

- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- It has been okay. It is with my religous group and it hits on all addictions.
