Close Bipolar Disorder
Treatments
- Geodon Working / Worked
- I absolutely loved Geodon. I started on a very low dose, and I felt so good. BUt about a week into taking it, I ended up having the extra-pyridial side effects that nobody wants. You know, that relatively rare, but serious side effects? Yeah, that what happened to me. But it worked great for me, and I would trully suggest the medication.
- Lamictal Not Working
- Lamictal was one of the very first meds I took for my bipolar disorder for mood stabilization. At the time I was also taking Lexapro, and my family care added Lamictal to the Lexapro. And for me, within four days, made me very depressed and suicidal. It just was not the drug for me. It is a good medication, and may work very well for others, but it was not the right med for me.
- Seroquel Not Working
- Didn't like Seroquel. I noticed no improvement of symptoms whatsoever! I just felt very zombie like and fatgued all the time, and I was on a very lose dose. DIdnt have any negative side effects, but nothing positive came out of this medication for me.
- Topamax Somewhat Helpful
- I am just getting off of Topamax, and have been weaning off for about 2 weeks now. Topamax worked pretty good in the begining, for mood stabilization, but after a while I started to realize was the drug has been coined with the nickname "Stupimax". I have Bipolar Disorder with a major depersonalization issue, and the Topamax was making it worse, to the point where I couldnt focus. It is a good medication though, and would recommend it! I never had any negative side effects.

- Geodon Working / Worked
- Took it for Bipolar disorder, and absolutely loved it! Ended up having the extra-pyridial symptoms that you never want to end up having. So I had to stop taking the medication, but I would recommend it!
- Lexapro Somewhat Helpful
- Took it for depressiona dn anxiety associated with bipolar disorder. I was on Lexapro for over a year. I had no negative side effects, besides some memory disturbance. It did help with depression and anxiety, but I was unable to cry even if I was happy! I would recommend it to others.
