Prednisone is a really dirty drug. It works well, but the side effects are awful! I'm sorry you're going through that!

They say once I have the thyroid removed the DM will improve.

I was diagnosed with DM on April 17, 2009,it's all new to me. At first I hesitated about joining the group and now I'm glad I did. It does help lift your spirits. I bet you have been through alot.

Close Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis
This disease has been devasting for me in every aspect. I am trying to learn more about the disease from others who have it, so that I can understand the struggle that I am going through. I have always been a very active person, but now I am having to learn how to cope with my limitations. I need a support group to help me understand this disease, and to be able to share coversation with people who can relate to I am going through.

I need to be a part of a group that can relate to my illness.
Treatments
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Yes it worked. I had to overlook the side effects and stay focused on the benefit of the drug.
