About Me
I've just finished my 2nd yr of my RN degree. I would like to become street nurse. My father, who died in '08, had schizophrenia. He spent most of his life moving around, living in shelters. So in his memory, helping others is where my passions lie. I work as a Community Facilitator supporting individuals who are living with the effects of brain injuries. I am a lesbian. Oh, and I can't forget I live with my roommate Matty, my loving golden retriever.

Interests
I love trying new things. I like everything from the video games on the Wii to playing pool, tennis, reading, walking my dog, checking out new places to dine, movies and going out to the theater. I love coffee and more coffee (gotta be Tim Horton's though:) and finally, yes you heard it from me first, mini putt:) I like the batting cages, air hockey and Pac Man too. I like spending time relaxing, chatting with friends and BBQ's.

Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionTo find support from others who understand depression. I've had intermittent depression for many years. Since my father died in Jan '08 my depression has been much worse and interfers with my life. Medicatoin alone is not working.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- Psychiatrist just prescibes pills and I can't really open up to him. I don't know what to say when I'm supposed to be talking to him and he doesn't ask questions to probe and help
- Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
- Topamax Somewhat Helpful
- blunted my emotions at first not as effective now. side effectdry mouth.dose 200mg at bedtime

Close Bereavement
Type: Loss of a ParentMy father, who had schizophrenia, died of cancer in Jan '08. I hadn't seen him in about 5 years, and I did not get to say goodbye. No one got to him in time and he died alone. I feel many conflicting emotions (sadness, regret, anger, guilt, love, to name a few)
