That worries me, these degrading doctors who are so missinformed about MRSA. I've been running i nto similar nonsense localy in my area. The doctor should have run a nasal swab on him, no questions asked-it taked seconds to perform the procedure and afew w days to recieve the results. I noticed doctor's shy away from testig children for MRSA, and I don ot understand it-my daughter's dr actualy gave us bactroban for her nose last year when I initaly had MRSA, as a precaution, but she should have swabed her nose first-why torture the child,t hat crap burns abit inside the nasal passages. Just keep an eye on his skin over time, it is the best you can do, and possibly seek another dr if another concern arises.
I found out three days ago I had MRSA. I first got a boil in Jan '09. I did nothing until mid-may as I had a doctor pop the boil and she never mentioned the posibility of MRSA. Then in May I got another boil on my leg and had it cultured. It was MRSA. Now a week later another one has appeared and I am really freaked out. I don't want this to affect my child and my unborn baby. The doctors are telling me to be cautious but that there is nothing I can really do to eliminate the disease.
