About Me
I am 57 years young who has had R.A. for the last 6 years. I have been a veternarian assistant and receptionist since 1982. I have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. I have been dealing with this disease not too well but it is getting better with the help of my friends and a wonderful doctor.

Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
I was officially diagnosed with RA 2 1/2 years ago but I know I had it for many years before that. The pain finally got so bad I went to a Rheumy doctor. He has helped me so much. I a lucky to have such a wonderful doctor and all my friends and my boss support me and seem to understand.
Treatments
- Enbrel Working / Worked
- So far no side effects. I noticed a big difference after only 2 injections.
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- So far no side effects but my doctor has lowered me to 4 once weekly and I seem to have a little more pain now than I did when I was on 5 or more a week
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- My doctor took me off Pred. about 2 months ago. I can tell a big difference but I am not willing to go back on it unless it is absolutely neccesary. I did not like the side effects from it and I was worried about the long term effects from it.
- Voltaren Somewhat Helpful
- It seemed to work pretty good at first then all of the sudden I got bloody diarrhea from it so I was taken off of it.
