Thank Goodness you were able to reassure him. It is a tough road with other inmates saying nobody waits all the time to ones. Sometimes ones do not stay the whole spell but because they let people undermine their love. Family....do not give up on them coming around. Most people are afraid of people in prison because we have been taught these are the bad people...not true! But it takes everyone time to adjust, accept, think thru their feelings, and then support you.
Most all of my family is much more supportive than they were in the beginning....took a few years. He has been in over three. At first they only remember the bad stuff we say about the case then later they see how it all came about and then accepts things easier.
I will hope and pray that they come around.....in time after working thru their feelings of uncertainity...all the help you can receive helps. My family here my DS family still gives me alot more support than family...but at least they send him cards and will write him back too now. They did not do that in the beginning,
Do not write off your family yet....give them a little more time to pull their heads out of their behinds! LOL!
