Brought Richie home fromthe hospital yesterday afternoon. We are scheduled to begin evaluation on Tuesday. Just have to make it through the weekend and down to New Orleans on Monday. My sister is flying in from Texas to go with me. I am exhausted. Brett wants to sleep in our room, usually ending up in the bed about 3:00. I then get on her palette but can't sleep because I keep getting up to check on Richie. While he was in the hospital, his ammonia level shot back up. He was in regular room, so had to help the nurse give him an enema. The nurse used Lactulose that I had brought from home and it didn't work. Used hospital strength Lactulose and it worked. I didn't realize 20 years ago that For Better or Worse would include holding his butt cheeks together so the enema would work. Stomach is in knots and am just waiting until we can get to NO and that it isn't too late.

Glad Richie is home, I imagine the trip to NO will be very tiring on all of you. I hope a lot of good things will come out of it. I'm sorry I had to laugh at the Better or Worse comment, I have been there myself a few times and we have to laugh to get through it.
we were talking with one of the other patients at our last dr's visit and he said that he could not take the liquid lactulose that it did not work that they put him on a powder mix that works well who knows you might ask about it.
