Superhero Status
I want to send this to you as I really appreciate all the information you've given me - others. It's made me realise that I'm not alone. Having good information has armed me in fighting the battle of HH. Some doctors have looked at me sideways when I have tried to explain what's going on with my HH. But after reading the different messages posted I realise that it's not all in my head but reality to those suffering HH.
THANKS

hugs the hiatal...was 5 to 7 cm...it was at risk for herniation so i didnt really have a choice...I went to a lot of surgeons...maybe four or five who said I was at risk and needed to have the surgery..that is why I had it done...make sure they go over all the risk factor...hugs

i will tell you this..the acid reflux and the heartburn and chest pain is completely gone...even having my bed elevated at night...I would vomit all night or be sea sick..which was way worse then the gas I have now...good luck to you...keep me posted and if I can answer any questions for you let me know...hugs Deb

hi...because of the size of my hiatal hernia I was cut open from the chest to pass the belly button...i spent 4 days in the hospital...the only pain was getting up and having stitches and clamps all the way down...for a week in a half it hurt after that wasnt bad...couldnt lift for a long time because you can get a hernia with open surgery...I think I did good in the surgery...only problem is it involves the spleen and the liver....they have to move over to do the surgery...my surgery was about 4 hours....I am still praying the gas issue improves with time...good luck...Debbie
