The last 2 days i wasn't feeling well, nothing dramitic just feeling goopy as i call it. Yesterday morning i had black stools which means bleeding in the intestines or stomach. Today at dialysis the Dr. came in and i told him about it. The bad news is it is not good to have blood in your stool, the good news is that iron pills can make it black...i take 3 a day...they said quit. They also have me for tests but less invasive ones than the test they were gonna give.
So now i have a problem, i have low iron in my blood, i eat a LOTTTTT of meat per Dr. orders and i still have low iron, the foods that can make it better (liver, hearts, green veggies, etc) are not allowed in quantity for a person on dialysis, the iron that they give me is good and once a week but they are just giving me enought to keep me above the minimum ammount i can have which is about 150 points from the max.
Hopefully (i think yes) the problem will be nothing but the iron pills. The other problem i don't know what to do about, the iron shots are 1,500 $ and i feel MUCH better when my iron is up and also am able to get more done (especially the bike riding) easier, faster, and better.
Anybody got any info for me?
