Have known i had PKD for sure since the middle 90s but have experienced the pain from it since the 70s. Am currently in renal failure and on dialysis and about to get on the waiting list for a new kidney. Mother was the one who passed it to me and she died at 42, her mom when my mom was 6. Still pretty active at 52, i work a little but mostly ride bicycle, like Armstrong but slower.
