About Me
Unhappilly married Entreprenueral Mom of 4 kids & 4dogs. Kids are M-7, F-11, M-13 & M-14 & 3 Chinese Sharpei & a Chi/Pom rescue from a TN Kill Shelter. I have had Fibromyalgia since 1989. I believe I either got it from long term antibiotic use (Eurethro-base tabs 3 x per day for 3 yrs which my dermatologist prescribed for me to prevent acne)OR from hitting my head on the cobblestone at Fanuel Hall in Boston after a botched piggy back ride.I also suffer from a bulging disc and severe back pain.

Close Back Pain
I believe I have had a bad back from twisting it while hanging on a railing as a kid and looking over my shoulder. I was only about 13 or 14 and I felt lighting bolts. My feet were off the ground and I was hanging on the stairway railing and turned my head to see who was knocking at the door. That was all it took and I have had horrible back pain since. I never received medical treatment. Today I suffer from the same pain. The MRI says I have a bulging disc. The pain is excruciating.
Treatments
- Acupuncture Working / Worked
- I highly recommend it! You feel so good when you leave there. I was also getting treated for Fibro but they worked on my back too. GO TRY IT. It was also covered by my insurance...It does not hurt. I hate needles, blood etc...If you get a good acupuncturist, you will not feel any pain. If you do, request another doctor or try another place. You will not regret it. You leave there feeling so relieved, like the world has been lifted off your shoulders and the pain is GONE.
- Bedrest Working / Worked
- Ummmm. I know my eye sight has left me but where is the option for Percocet? I'm on 325/10 mgs 8 per day. I couldn't survive with the pain without pain medicine. BedRest: Well, chair rest is what I do. At my desk with a heating pad.
- Fentanyl Working / Worked
- Helps you sleep through the night and delivers pain meds through your skin 24/7, I'm on it now for fibromyalgia.
- Flexeril Somewhat Helpful
- I take this when my back is in spasms, usually only at night as it knocks you out. It's good to be knocked out when your back is out. ;o)
- Heat Working / Worked
- I LIVE on my heating pad. I sit on this thing until my back heals (usually takes 7-10 days when I have a back episode and my back goes out). The heat makes it feel so much better.
- Relaxation Working / Worked
- I am retired and when the kids leave for school, I can relax on my heating pad in between laundry loads. I keep it on my desk chair and actually sleep here, on it. My bed has a pillowtop which makes my back go out when I wake up. I am so afraid of a fire and I am stuck in bed, not being able to move or get up. So I have been sleeping on my desk chair for almost 2 yrs now. It sucks but at least I know my back won't be thrown out when I wake up.
