Support Groups
Close Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
Diagnosed with DVT in April, need support from others who have been or are going through the same.
Treatments
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- Not sure, though my doctor says it is. Am on 7 and after 7 weeks still the levels are just 1.9. Not sure if this is good or not.
Close Bereavement
Type: Loss of a ChildMy son was killed Christmas Eve 2003 aged 16 years by a drunk driver. Although doing ok some days still feel need of support from others who have been there.
Treatments
- Crying Working / Worked
- Was all day and every day initially, now seems to be at unexpected times. Sometimes helps but not always.
- Keeping Busy Working / Worked
- Although was off work 8 months initially, I am now back at work full time although this took two and a half years to achieve.
- Pets Working / Worked
- Two dogs, gave me a reason to get out of bed.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- Had psychotherapy for 3 years, and yes it worked well for me.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Excellent support from friends. Family were a waste of space, didn't know what to say so stayed away from me. Still stay away. No contact.
- Support Groups Working / Worked
- Was a member then a manager of an on line bereavement group. Enjoyed giving support to newly bereaved, but mainly found it good getting support from those who know how I feel without judging me.
