Had a bad couple weeks.. Mood
Monday, October 12, 2009 | A General Update story

My pain came back, actually I've had it all this time.  It just got worse.  Kind of unmanageable, as it went to my knees.  Feels like fluid retention, maybe due to the gabapentin?

Planning to see my PCP.  I'm supposed to be getting better.  This setback does depress me a bit, especially since the holidays are coming around.

Been away from DS for awhile, as I still have a job to deal with.  Sometimes I wish I stayed married so I could be on Disability.  I just need more time to myself to get well somehow..  I can't take the demands and stress of a job right now.

I start my new pain-meds tomorrow.. yay! Mood
Tuesday, August 4, 2009 | A General Update story

Been soooo miserable, having fibromyalgia on my upper body and apparently the endo still mercilessly beating at my lower body.  My pain-specialist finally heard it in my voice today... that I need HELP.

I WILL NOT GOOGLE the meds tramadol and neurontin.  The less I know, the better.  I don't ever expect to be 100%; I just want normalcy.  As much as I love my cats, I want to get out again and enjoy what's left of the summer! Cool

I sure hope you feel better soon. Pain can sure take a toll on us! I am NOT saying this help me with Fibro but I was taking Glucosamine and Chorondrin for my Herniated Disk (I know vitamins are not a cure and don't help everyone) and after using it so many months I found my Firbro was better and I know Glucosamine and Chorondrin is NOT for Fibro so could just be a coincident when my Fibro got better. It is so hard for me to take Vitamins because of my painful mouth sores and I can't swallow them due to something in my Esophagus as I have to open the caps and take them that way AND THEY BURN SO MUCH so when I ran out I did not buy it right away and my Fibro got worse! Yeah, quite a coincident. I purchased Glucosamine and Chorondrin again and after so many months it was better again. I could not even raise one of my arms or stretch my arm out to pick up a glass or something and the way I am so allergic to meds I just suffer or meds don't help me so since I am odd meds not helping me guess I am odd on something that does help. I can raise my arm somewhat again but I have plenty of other things I suffer with LOL I don't take any synthetics the vitamins I take and all natural ones only just in case you want to try that too along with the meds. But you should always wait at least a hour in between taking vitamins and taking meds as the meds can destroy the effectiveness of the meds. Even if the vitamins don't help the physical problems doctors now are sure recommending to take vitamins. My regular and eye doctor both have but when she pulled out a bright red vitamin I said no thanks I prefer a all natural vitamin LOL Sure hope you can enjoy the summer again. My favorite time of the year is Fall. Sorry to be so longgggggg Hugs and Blessings, Country

I hope you feel better soon. I just try to sleep through my flares. Have you had your vitamin d level checked? Since being on that rx strength my flares have been cut down to a thrid. I also use enbrel which really helps.

Can't get xanax for my anxiety attacks.. Mood
Wednesday, July 29, 2009 | A Frustrating story

How could this possibly be so difficult?  I awaken late at night or very early in the morning by either my heart beating fast or severe pain in my arms and shoulders. Most of the times they happen simultaneously.  My PCP used to prescribe that for me, just 10 tabs at .25mg each, ever since my first "panic attack" back in April.  For awhile there I was good, sleeping well etc., not needing them.  But since July 5th, and every night since then for some crazy reason I get that severe pain in my arms and shoulders, and of course my heart starts beating.  So that is the ONLY time I take a xanax tab.  Well last I saw my PCP little over a week ago, I ask her for a refill.  She says no, you're seeing a pain-specialist soon.  He can refill it for me.  I saw my pain-specialist yesterday.  I mention it to him about the palpitations I get with my arm pain.  He prescribes Savella for Fibromyalgia, but says I should contact my cardiologist to refil my xanax.  Okay, I just spoke with my cardiologist now.  He tells me flat out, that NO, it's not my heart that's causing my pain or really anything, just plain ANXIETY.  Contact my PCP for that, who referred me to the pain-specialist!

So now people wonder why I hate doctors.  Honestly I'm dropping by Walgreens as soon as I can, and I'll buy the STRONGEST sleeping pill, so I won't wake up with any more palpitations.  If it weren't for my kitties, and I just adopted a new one, believe me I'm ready to implode and just fall into a very deep sleep.

Sleep is a problem for all of us. See if your pdr. will rx you lunesta. It is non habit forming and does help you get to sleep and stay thee. My dr has no problem giving me xanax. If you have anxiety you need xanzx or something like that.

I'm sorry for all the trouble your going through :( That's not right that your doctor is giving you a hard time about anxiety meds. You should really look into an SSRI, you probably wouldn't need xanax after that, they keep you calm 24/7- but they do take a month to start working. I just re-started mine, and i cannot wait till they kick in. I do not even take my klonopin when i have the SSRI's in my system, but i personally hated xanax and klonopin, they made me feel funny. I hope your doc can help you out soon, and if she doesnt help than maybe you should switch. I hope you have a good nights sleep tonight!

I use melatonin that my Dr recommended. It helps a lot, but not always. Some nights, I still wake up about 3 or so. But it made a lot of difference; before it was almost every night!
