I have been involved in an extremely codependant relationship with an alcoholic for 5 years. We break up, get back together for the past 2 years. I cannot seem to walk away from him completely. I worry about him, eventhough he never worries about me. I am heartbroken and need support.

Close Families & Friends Of Addicts
My relationship of 5 years with an Alcoholic boyfriend just ended. The last 2 years were on and off with him. I just couldnt walk away. In January he was given a job out of state with a rent free furnished apartment. This, I thought, would be the send off I needed. Well we kept in contact - me nagging him constantly to get his life in prder and use this opportunity to straighten out. Well, you guessed it - he didnt. I have not seen, nor heard from him in 2 months now. Its been difficult.
