    • About Me

I am nowhere near as passionate about anything as I was in college. I don't even have hobbies! My passion would have to be my daughter and my two lovey dovey dogs. I'm studying to be a social studies teacher of middle school. Overall, I have ceased believing in coincidences. I believe EVERYTHING, good and bad, happens for a reason. I was diagnosed with MS in 2003.

      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

I was diagnosed in 2003. Solu-Medrol treatments apparently threw me into early Menopause. I asm 48 now. I try to not think about having the disease; but that's getting harder to do, as you know, daily injections bring it to the forefront; and I have chronic pain - some due to my osteoarthritis, some (legs) the M.S.

      Treatments

      Baclofen Somewhat Helpful
Just not worth the extra money
      Copaxone Working / Worked
Side effects are huge welts, itching immediate after injection that goes away pretty quickly
      Neurontin Working / Worked
I think I should go back as the Lyrica is too expensive. It was so long ago I don't recall side effects, effetiveness, etc.
      Prednisone Working / Worked
Last relapse was about 3 months ago and concisted of severe right arm pain - MRI showed new active lesion at C4. Pain went away with 2 days of prednisone; however seem to have permanent total numbness of thumb and forefinger.
      Provigil Not Working
Did not work 0- Amantadine and Ginseng work better.
      Rebif Not Working
Tried it - side effects were waking in the middle of the night with flu like symptoms - body aches, chills, etc.
      Solumedrol Working / Worked
As everyone knows, I gained far too much weight too quickly - you look like the Michelin man. Once it was for retrobulbar optical neuritis (my dx.) and another for severe leg pain. It worked.
      Swimming Not Working
Didn't seem to have much of an effect
