Close Endometriosis
I had severe endometriosis until now. In 1996 I began to bleed to death and had a hysterectomy, one ovary was ruined and they left the other. Three weeks ago, I had oopherectomy and removal of endo wrapped around colon, bowel, intestines, bladder and an orange sized chocolate cyst on left ovary. no cancer. I had no idea that leaving the ovary meant the endo would continue to grow and destroy. Now, I need to consider menopause, treatment and making sure the endo stays gone.
Treatments
- Laser Surgery Working / Worked
- In 1990, I went in for a surgery to clean up my endo. The Dr. said it would take about 30 min. 5 1/2 hours later, the doc cleaned endo off most of my organs and removed all he could find.
- Progesterone Cream Somewhat Helpful
- I used the Progesterone cream and found it helped some strange pain spots under my arms.
- Surgery Somewhat Helpful
- Vaginal Hysterectomy, Right side oopherectomy side effects: Surgeon left the one ovary because I was young. The Endometriosis continued to grow and tie off my intestines, bowel and colon. 3 weeks ago, Surgeon did LSO, cleaned off bowel, colon and intestines where he could. Side effect, surgical menopause. Reactions to hormones, plus do not want endo to grow again.
