hi,sweetierna1c is when u give blood every 4months depends on how often ur doctor wants u to my says every 4 months. a1c messagers ur gluecose level which is ur sugar level. like miracleperson said ur sugar levle is very high. i would tell ur doctor about it. and if they want u to do insulin it is not as bad as u have probably heard. i have the kind of insulin that is called innolet which is a dial and u turn the dial to dose u need and u have to use a needle but the needles are very very small and it does not hurt at least i dont think it hurts. but everybody is different. i take 2 shots a day in the morning and at bedtime. plus i take my rebif for my ms 3 times a week mon,wed,fri which is a shot. so there are days i feel like a pin cushion but life goes on. i am here if u need to talk. hope to hear from u soon and i would love to be ur friend. love ya

nancy,rn7.0 on a1c is diabetic and 6.99 on a1c or lower is non-diabetic. your sugar must be very high to have 12.1 a1c test results.rnyou have serious disease and need to control intake or find assistance to get rid of disease. will make suggestion laterrn

hi, please see my profile to many things wrong to list. i have type 2 diabetes. i take insulin to 2 shots a day. 1 in morning and 1 at bedtime. i take cinnamon tablets 500mg each 2 in the morning and 2 at night time. i have been taken them for 2 years now and within the 1st 4 months of taken them my a1c went from 9 to 6.1. u might want to call ur doctor and let them know what is goin on. they may need to increase ur insulin dose. please, let me know what happens. take care love ya
