i was diagnosed at age 5 in 1959 with psoriasis all over my body, at age 26, i went into stanford (psoriasis wing) and was there for 6 wks. and for the first time, i came out 'clear'...am now 54 and i think i have proriatic arthritis so am checking this group for answers. i do have some psoriasis just recently on legs and chest but nothing like when i was younger. i have a lot of joint pain.

Treatments

Coal Tar Working / Worked

i just 'smelled like tar' all the time.

Methotrexate Working / Worked

was given this treatment while in stanford in 1980 and was told that later in life (i didn't care then, i said ANYTHING to get rid of the psoriasis) that it may cause arthritis......

Phototherapy Working / Worked

part of the 'stanford treatment' at that time so i think it helped and i came out 'very tan'...
