University of Iowa is where my daughter had surgery 6/07. It is our understanding that the positive effects of the surgery may not be seen for several if not many years...that the best outcomes come when there was a shorter time of dx', younger patient ....we hope that we did not put her through it for no reason. It was hard for her, very hard at 18....
