Well it's been a month since the dx. Got the sando shot with some side-effects (fatigue, headaches) for the first 2 weeks. Also felt like in a …
Thanks Optim, I'm starting to get some of the symptoms back again, my ring is feeling noticeably tighter and difficult to get over my knuckle again, noticed some skin tags back on my neck and changes in my skin again. Unfortunately we all the symptoms all too well, so it's easy to spot them again and not write them off as signs of ageing etc. It's just so disappointing isn't it, but I mustn't grumble or complain as there are so many people much worse off than me.
Take care Optim

Hi Optim
The one benefit that I've really noticed is the difference in my focus. I definitely do not have as much brain fog as I did before, I can remember things much better and have been so much more focused at work. Before surgery I truly felt that my brain was surrounded in cotton wool, I would feel overloaded with information and inwardly wanted to scream for people to stop asking me to do things or tell me things, as I felt I couldn't take on anymore. I definitely don't feel like that now.
I haven't noticed a massive difference in reduction of soft tissue, but hopefully that will come later.
Take care

Goo luck with that and let me know how it goes. Do you feel better already after the surgery?
Thanks Optim! May I ask the size of your tumor? Mine is 2 cm and the doctor said he wont be able to get it all out as part of it is wrapped around the carotid artery. I may need to undergo radiation therapy. I noticed changes in my facial features. I am hoping they will go back to normal after the surgery. I'm just really scared about the surgery as I have a 2 year old. I'm trying to stay positive though. I'm lucky to have a great husband. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Optim
So how was it really? Was it better or worse than you expected. The good thing is that you haven't had too long to build up too much anxiety about surgery. I really hope that it works for you and that they managed to get it all out.
Fingers and toes crossed

Diagnosed with acro last week. Partly relieved by finding out there is a reason I can't stand looking at myself in a mirror anymore. Partly in shock and scared about what's ahead. MRI tumor 2.5 cm seems invasive. Meeting the neuro next week. Had Sandostatin injection yesterday. No side effects yet and still hoping (wishful thinking?) I will wake up to a new me!
