Close Meniere's Disease
I am the 3rd generation of my family to get Meniere's. I'm 90% deaf in my right ear from it. I ofen have the feeling of fullness in my ear and I'm also very noise sensitive. U don't have vertigo very often, although I have had it. I lost the hearing (over the course of a weekend) about 3 years and I find it very depressing.
Treatments
- Valium Somewhat Helpful
- Is this Diazide? It helps relieve the pressure in my ear but I can only take it on a asneeded basis. Otherwise it makes me nauseous.
- Acupuncture Somewhat Helpful
- I use it when my sinuses get backed up which is also when my Menieres acts up the most.
- Antivert Not Working
- The side effects are too hideous. I feel awful on it -- unable to even complete a sentence.
- Massage Somewhat Helpful
- I get manual lymphatic drainage a face head and neck massage and also cranial sacral therapy. It is so relaxing that it does help.
- Valium Working / Worked
- I took 1 mg klonopin nightly to deal with other anxiety issues (which are easy to get when you have Meniere's) and most of my symptoms went away. When I went off the Klonopin the came back.
