So I've been doing yoga every day and I'm counting that as meditation-in-motion. Love it. For me, it's another spiritual link in the puzzle piece of my existence. I get to connect my mind-body-spirit together in a flow of movement, consciousness, and at time trepidation in the moves. But that's the fun of it all. Really, too, it's about connecting my breath with my bodily movements and being aware of it all. I'm not thinking about yesterday, I'm not into my next week, I'm in the here and now and that is a gift! Also, my girlfriend inspired me to meditate for 15 minutes a day. I want to take the pepsi challenge and do it! If anyone else out there wants to too let me know! :)
In the stillness of meditation I find myself again; I find inner peace and strength that I didn't know was possible. There is no greater gift I can give to myself then this. I'm finding that I'm like a lion, a leader. and not a follower in today's over stimulated on their starbucks coffee while texting and driving and trying to keep up with the Joneses society. Who ever said that we have always do what we told because who ever said that was a liar. I like what the Buddha says about being a light unto your own self. When we radiate our light, our joy, our desires, our compassion and poof the next thing we know we are actually happy. We have lasting happiness. We're happy with ourselves because we're being auththentic and not putting on some fake representative of who the world, our parents, our lovers, etc. want us to be. It's not easy though but hey we're alive and we get to do it and that's the best part!
