Dx'ed five and a half years ago. I took Gleevec for the first three years then was off meds for one year then sprycel for a year. Have been off meds for six months and am still in remission.

Close Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML)
Dx'ed about five and a half years ago. Was on Gleevec for approx. 3 years then off all meds for 1 year, relapsed during that year. On Sprycel about a year and a half and am currently in remission.
Treatments
- Gleevec Working / Worked
- I took Gleevec for about three years and it stopped working. Side effects were awful as I am sure you all know. I lost 85 pounds in the first year!
- Sprycel Working / Worked
- I have been on Sprycel for about a year and a half. Wicked side effects which have never lessened. I am in remission.
