I HOPE ALL WORKS OUT FOR YOU AND I AM HERE IF YOU WANT TO TALK. I HAVE BARRETT'S DISEASE AND STAYING AWAY FROM STRESS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE IS SO IMPORTANT.I DON'T WANT TO SOUND NEGATIVE AT ALL AND I'M SORRY IF I HAVE DONE THAT. I JUST WANT TO BE TRUTHFUL AND HERE FOR YOU IF YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT. I WAS DOING FAIRLY WELL WHEN I CHANGED MY DIET DRAMATICALLY BUT THEN I ENDED UP WITH MAJOR STRESS IN MY LIFE DUE TO A DIVORCE AND BAD THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO MY GRANDCHILDREN DUE TO MY HUSBAND SO MY STRESS WAS HIGH AND SO WAS MY DEPRESSION. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND HANDLE THINGS DIFFERENT. I WILL PUT YOU IN MY PRAYERS BECAUSE I TRULY BELIEVE IN THEM. A LOT OF PEOPLE EAT YOGURT BECAUSE IT'S EASY TO GET DOWN BUT BE CAREFUL OF THE SUGAR. I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW BADLY I WAS EATING UNTIL I HAD THE ORIGINAL TEST. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN HELP IN ANY WAY. HE IS GOING TO BE JUST FINE, I BELIEVE THAT IN MY HEART AND SOUL. PRAYERS ARE THE BEST THING THAT HE CAN HAVE RIGHT NOW AND I HAVE A FEELING THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM GOING OUT TO HIM. GOD BLESS SWEETY.

Yes, thank you. We are doing well. I just got back from the groceries and I love fruits this time of year! Luckily since I've had my surgery and gotten my taste buds back and appetite the taste of cucumbers, strawberries, cantalope, watermelon....ummmmm taste sooooo good once again! I hope your Dad is able to enjoy eating. If he's still having issues, tell him to hang in there - I was there once. My prayers are still with you guys! Brenda

Thank you for your message. I am so very sorry for your father and what he is going through. But don't give up as you can see there are miracles. Many people have over-come this beast of a cancer, my husband stayed so positive as we beat all the obsticals with our daughter and all her brain tumors & lung tumors and her being paralyzed so he fought all the way never giving up. I have never loved anyone so much and I still love him with all my heart. I feel as if he will always be with me, pushing me to stay positive and help others and not let them give up. That is how he lived he loved people and always had a smile for them. So I am sending you a smile and so is my husband from above. Please keep me informed on how you are doing as well as your dad and give him my blessings. I am standing beside him.

I'm so glad he had some positive signs! Yeah, the feeding tube wasn't a lot of fun, but in my case, my Drs. said I needed it and I was afraid not to have it. Sounds like your Dad is where he needs to be right now and I hope they take good care of him. I'm so glad he had a better day today. God bless! Brenda

It is scary when a loved one is so ill. And, it's scary for the one who is so ill, too, I'm sure. You know, some things we can control and some we cannot. When I was very ill, I just prayed for God to give me the strength to trust his plan for me. Course, I asked him for what I wanted too, but in the end, I knew it would be his plan that would be. I turned to my Drs. and my family and gave it the best I could to survive. I couldn't swallow anything, but melted ice chips for about 4 weeks, but I had a feeding tube. There are ways to get nutrition without swallowing. Here's praying they can keep your Dad comfortable and keep finding ways to help him. Just keep standing by him, help speak for him, and remind him you love him. I know it gave me great comfort, just knowing my family was there for me - even if I didn't need something done - just knowing they were there for me - meant the world. And, I often said to myself - I put my faith in God. I trust his direction, whatever his journey might be for me. Hang in there! God bless! Please, keep me informed about your Dad and remind him, he's not alone with this. Many others of us are out here. Brenda
