An RN with BSN, and MSN. Parish Nurse. Contracted Lyme D. July 1996 in KS, in my backyard!! Love music. Have 5 grown children, one foster daughter and 10 grandchildren, scattered all over the globe. After contracting Lyme and living thru the first 4 months, I sold out and moved back to my hometown. Am a widow of 19 years. Love Springtime. Have a small garden, first time I've planted in some years.

Close Lyme Disease
IN 1996, when I was totally clueless about Lyme D., I was raking in my back yard, where lots of animals roamed, including, deer, and I got bit by a tick too small to even see. In 3 days, having seen the Bull's Eye Rash, but not recognizing it, I developed classic symptoms of the "flu". Went to Dr., but saw the Nurse Practitioner who gave me too mild an antibiotic. 13 years ago. My life changed drastically. I don't know any others with that disease and look forward to learning from you all.
Treatments
- Doxycycline Somewhat Helpful
- I developed Primary Secondary and Tertiary Lyme D.after being bitten by deer tick in my own back yard. My doctor knew little about Lyme. A friend found info on INternet. Dr contacted CDC tried every recommended Tx.Painful episodes and impaired mobility ensued.Unable to work past several years. Try to focus on the good happening along the way. I use natural supplements like MSMfor pain. Other meds didnt work. Mobility greatly impaired. Every day I think I am getting a bit better.
