I just recently moved from Canada to Germany to be with my long distance love. Now I'm experiencing the trials and tribulations of living an ex-pat life and [attempting to] learn this language they call 'German'. It was really hard for me to leave my family and friends, but I'm glad I came here; not just for love, but also for experience and adventure.

I'm a Chinese-Canadian dating a German. We met as students while he was doing his internship abroad. Even though he didn't know much English then, we somehow hit it off famously. We've spent most of our relationship long distance, but I've recently moved to Germany to be with him. I joined this forum because everything is perfect with our relationship EXCEPT with his family having problems accepting me. It's such a support for me to read other people's experiences with this.
