Close Eczema
I have a 3 YO son who has battled severe eczema his entire life. He is on several antihistamines and an immunosuppressant. I feel that this is a never ending battle for us. He's been hospitalized 4 times in under a year for 3 superinfections and 2 herpes infections. I'm looking for ideas, friendship and support from those going through it too, because no one truly understands until you've been there.
Treatments
- Betamethasone (Topical) Somewhat Helpful
- Clobetasol Not Working
- sometimes helps
- Doxepin Somewhat Helpful
- I think it helps w/his itching.
- Elidel Somewhat Helpful
- one of our first treatments, worked for about a month, then quit working.
- Eucerin Not Working
- did nothing.
- Hydrocortisone Not Working
- didn't do a thing.
- Protopic Not Working
- did nothing.
- Triamcinolone Topical Somewhat Helpful
- worked well for a while, then quit working.
- Cyclosporine Working / Worked
- was the best we ever had, but had kidney toxicity with it.
- Cellcept Working / Worked
- help, not as good as cyclosporine, but if we increase the dose, he will be hospitalized with an infection.
- Prograf Not Working
- Did nothing, landed him in hospital w/superinfection of S Aureas.
