Hi Angela I just noticed your plans to move south to be closer to your children. That sounds like a wonderful idea. I'm sure you would enjoy being able to see your family more. I hope everything goes smoothly.
I've been taking care of my annual checkups this past week. So far everything's been fine. As I talked with my primary care physician who's been my doctor for many years now and suspected MS about 13 years ago. He said that despite the risks he felt that Tysabri may be a good choice for me at this point since my MS is progressing so rapidly. He felt that the monocloidal antibodies sounded like they held promise for treating autoimmune diseases. I've been thinking about it and I guess 24 cases of PML really isn't many with all of the people who are using Tysabri. It's just that I personally haven't exactly been the luckiest person as far as rare medical stuff goes. I have had 2 occurences of an extremely rare tumor called a parotid tumor on a facial nerve. After the first one they told me I would never get another, but I did 6 years later. I also have an extremely rare heart rhythm disorder that a well known cardiologist/eletrophysiologist has tried twice to correct, but the procedure failed both times so I'm an on medication to control it for the rest of my life. So that's why I have been somewhat hesitant.
The spasms are getting stronger in my right leg. Not sure what to do about it. I may call the doctor again. The other evening I was sitting with my husband and daughter and we could all see my foot turning inward it happened several times over a 20 minute period. It was quite painful. My husband keep asking if there was anything that he could do. I'm trying stretching to see if that will help. It's quite bizarre, but with MS what do you expect but the bizarre? I also thought maybe my potassium might be low or something and causing more spasms so I'm eating more bananas. Although this type of spasm does seem to be rather an extreme reaction to my body craving bananas, or needing to stretch out more but who knows. I really don't want to take more drugs. My pill box is already overflowing. :(
So when are you thinking of moving? Are you thinking of listing your house now or waiting until spring? Are your kids coming for Thanksgiving? We'll have all of our kids here except for one son. He lives in CA and works for FedEx and can't get away for the holidays. We just saw him a couple of weeks ago when we were in CA. I'll probably send him $ so he and his girlfriend can have their Thanksgiving together. He's in college studying Electrical Engineering and lives in San Diego. His twin brother will be flying in from Denver to spend Thanksgiving with us though. As we as our youngest son and his wife and then our daughter and her boyfriend. I'm not doing much cooking like I use to though. I've already told them that I can't cook all night and day like I use too. I will probably order pies and rolls from a bakery in Provo. I'll have my husband help with the turkey and stuffing. The kids can help with potatoes and gravy and the rest. I use to make everything from scratch. They all love my homemade rolls and pies, but I just can't work full time and then cook all day for Thanksgiving too. If they want to make them I suppose that would work, but I think I would end up doing it. So I think I'll just place the order at the bakery.
Anyway I guess I've rambled enough for today. My husband worked all night last night. He's a computer network engineer and they were doing some sort of major upgrade replacing switches and stuff last night. He was suppose to be home at 1 or 2 am, but he didn't get in until 5 am. So it's almost 11 am here and he's still sleeping. Hopefully he'll be able to sleep for a while. Poor guy. Luckily this doesn't happen very often. Good thing my job doesn't require me to stay up all night don't think I'd make it. Plus we had a snow storm last night too. Not too bad, but I'm sure the roads were a little icy early this morning.
I hope things are going well for you and that you're feeling a little better each day. I'm happy to hear that you're able to speak just a little with your family. Even if they're the only one's who can understand. They're the most important one's anyway.
Take care and God bless,
Janeen

Oh I've been through some pretty scary earthquakes in California, but then I was born there and live there for quite a while. My husband and I even lived there when we were first married. He doesn't want to move back though, he says there are too many people. Our son loves it in San Diego though and I don't blame him the weather is beautiful there.
My dystonia symptoms have been bad for quite a while now. The increase in medications doesn't seem to be helping. I decided my right leg is probably not dystonia. I think the spasticity is just getting worse. It's really bothering me though. It wakes me up at night. My leg gets so stiff I can't bend it and I have trouble walking. My left leg is weak and my right leg is stiff so I look pretty goofy when I walk now days. Gee isn't MS fun. My doctor also increased my dose of Provigil since my fatigue is worse and I do need to stay awake at work.
Just found out one of my sons will be flying home for Thanksgiving for about 5 days so that will be fun. He and his wife are having some problems and may be divorcing. We feel bad about that of course. They're a cute couple, they don't have children. They've been married for almost 8 years, married in college. I guess they've just grown apart. He's still young so will probably remarry.
Well, guess I'd better sign off for now. I have a student coming for an appointment. Hope your week is going well. It's great to hear from you. Take care. Neener
