I am wife to the most patient man on earth. Mother to three great kids who have the best sense of humor ever. They are the sunshine's of my life and the reason I am here on earth. My kids and I moved here to Texas from my favorite place in the world, Mississippi, when I married my husband. Trying to live life with chronic pain while dealing with my brain cooties, a recent fibromyalgia diagnosis, and the loss of my big sister in March 2009.

Interests
Laughing, especially when my kids make me laugh. I have been told I have a great sense of humor, if a bit on the sarcastic side. I'm a gamer, play Word of Warcrack way too much some days. I love to go shopping when I am having a good day, something I could not do until I married my husband, as I just couldn't afford it. LOVE MUSIC. Better Than Ezra, please. Also very much enjoy late 60's, 70's, and of course 80's. Lots after that too, though I really dislike rap.

Close Chronic Pain
Diagnosed with three torn discs, L3-L4,L4-L5,L5-S1. Currently only on medication managament, but I am still in constant pain. Though I adore one of my docctors, the partner he sent me to for medication, eh not so much. Intending on getting a second opinion on treatment options soon.
Treatments
- Heat Working / Worked
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Lortab, then on to Norco. Worked for awhile and then as the pain got progressively worse, moved on to something else. Caused an awful dry mouth and much sweating.
- Lyrica Not Working
- Could not tell a difference and caused significant weight gain.
- Methadone Too Soon to Tell
- Currently on day two, so far it just makes me very sleepy. Can't tell if it is going to help yet.
- Morphine Somewhat Helpful
- Helped somewhat. Felt that it fizzled out.
- Oxycodone Somewhat Helpful
- Percocet. Makes me awfully sleepy. Does not work as well as I'd like. Sleepiness seems to be the only significant side effect.

Open Back Pain
Currently suffering from back pain due to three torn discs L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1. My PM doc advises against fusion surgery due to the fact that it's three levels, and apparently three level fusions do not generally do well. Been on meds, and am going to try the SCS trial shortly.
Treatments
- Bedrest Working / Worked
- Epidural Injection Not Working
- Tried once, didn't get much relief so my dr. didn't see the need in trying again.
- Fentanyl Somewhat Helpful
- Had much trouble keeping the patches on my skin, and they caused irritation on my skin. Therefore they didn't work much.

- Abilify Not Working
- I took Abilify briefly, maybe a month. As an already overweight woman, I did not need the added side effect of being able to match my husband's appetite at Taco Bell. This is a recurring problem for me and meds.
- Celexa Not Working
- I really did try to give Celexa a chance. Was on it for 4-5 months and it just wasn't for me.
- Lamictal Somewhat Helpful
- I was on this for about a year, a few years back, seems like it worked a bit but had troubles with side effects. Tried getting back on it again this week, but immediately got the headache and nausea so...out it goes. No pukey for me.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- *sigh* Dear Topamax. It was somewhat helpful. Unfortunately, I had the weird fever side effect and had to stop.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- Not too many side effects that I remember at the beginning.

- Caffeine Working / Worked
- Excedrin Somewhat Helpful
- Magnesium Too Soon to Tell
- Just started taking magnesium supplements for fibromyalgia, and have hopes it will help with the migraines as well.
- Naproxen Not Working
- Relpax Not Working
- This did not work for me, as most times I'm never sure if I have a migraine until it's raging.
- Topamax Working / Worked
- Took this for migraines for a couple of months in 2007 but had to stop due to the fact that side effects became unbearable. Giving it a try again, having taken my first dose last night.
- Tylenol Not Working
- I don't even bother with Tylenol anymore.
