Interests
For my hobbies, I paint, go to art shows, garden, do crafts and play poker. In my garden, I'm growing vegetables, herbs, and heirloom tomatoes. When Willy (my dog) has all his shots, he plans to take me for walks so I can get some more excercise.

I am so sorry to hear about your pet poodle. That is just so sad. We lost our beloved dog of 15 years 1 week after dad died. Had to take my daughter to emerg as she just broke down and couldn't seem to respond to us when we spoke her name. She would just cry "Nicky" over and over. 1st mom, then dad, then Nicky. Pets are part of the family. I got a border collie to comfort me when mom died. Although I loved Nicky she always wanted to cuddle with my daughter or husband. When I couldn't sleep at night I got Tippy (a bordie collie). That didn't make the pain any less when we had to put Nicky down (her kidneys were failing). One day at a time. I'll be thinking of you

Casa I'm sorry I read Sadinokia's message about feeling a bit better then looked at your profile and got confused. I'm cracking up lol. Anyway I really do hope you are feeling stronger as the days go by.

I'm so glad you are feeling a bit better Casa. It is tempting to try everything to distract yourself but you are right, you do need to feel the pain. It is still very early days for me. My husband picked up Sam's ashes from the vet this evening but I haven't looked at the casket yet, I just don't feel strong enough. I have lots of photos of Sam, some beautiful ones of our last today together last Wed but I can't look at them. I know I need to work through that but I'm really struggling. I will put up some pics as soon as I feel able to. Buddy is beautiful, can you tell me what breed he is.

Close Pet Bereavement
Saturday, I took my 4 year old poodle to the dog park. While running, he slipped into a hole, broke his back, had to have Buddy put to sleep and died in my arms. I have cried my eyes out and still have a hard time understanding WHY at a dog park? I'm angry! Buddy was so happy and a very social dog.
Close Stress Management
Living with stress is something I could use help with. A medical condition becoming worse when I am under stress, am too trusting, and try not to hurt people (to a fault) are all things I have to deal with.
Treatments
- Music Working / Worked
- Certain times I just like to put on a CD and let happy music do its work.
- Patience Working / Worked
- If unsure of something, I'd rather think over pros and cons for a situation. Just venting with a friend can give me a new outlook, too.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- I'd rather take my dog for a walk or walk/swim with a friend. After a walk or swim I feel much better than before, no side effects.
- Art Working / Worked
- When I paint it puts me in a world of my own where I can have peace and quiet.
