Hi Christina,
So sorry it took me so long. Have you made a decision? I was told that if I go through with radiation there would be a 99% rate of cancer not coming back. My doctor did not give me a choice. He just said this is what we will do. Getting radiation was easier than I thought, but the long term effects are still unknown. Radiation affects you in ways that you won't realize for maybe 10 years down the road, but I am 50, and decided to not worry about what ifs in 10 years, and just worry about today. I personally am glad I went through it, but I can't say how it would be for you. I hope I'm not too late with my answer!
Please let me know where you are at with it now.
Love and Friendship,
Theresa

Hi Christina!
I've checked periodically on here and havent seen you! How are things with your daughter? Yes I do worry but that's totally normal. Uterine cancer is one of the most treatable when caught early which yours definitely was! I know of at least two people who are 15-20 year survivors! So don't worry, the fact that they didnt even suggest radiation treatment lets you know that you will be fine!! Hope you are enjoying the summer! -

I'm With You

Wow Chris I was so surprised to read your message. While on my daughters acct looking thru stories. My daughter is nicole she was 15 1/2 when diagnosed she's now 17. Its heart wrenching to watch your child suffer in pain+all you want to do is somehow take the pain away. I can't say the prednisone was real helpful for nicole but everyone responds to meds differently. I'd love 2 hear from you+share stories or support and perhaps our daughters can do the same. I know how isolating this disease can be. And they feel so alone @ times like noone else realizes how they feel or what they live with daily. I'm also a nurse+work hard to research this disease hoping to help find relief for her during the "flare"times they tend to have. Please feel free to respond 2 this acct.if you'd like + I can send you my email address or create my own page on this site. My thoughts+ prayers are with you + your daughter. Mary

Thank you! I know she really needed the prayers. I'm updating my journal so you can read the details. I told her you were praying for her, and it made her smile.

Don't apologize Christina....I'm so sorry that happened to you, poor girl! You are right though, when all this is behind you, you will be so relieved that no more treatment is required. This is just a bump in the road and those infections when treated with antibiotics usually clear up really fast! Take care of yourself and let me know how you are doing when you feel up to it!
Love, Jackie :) -
