Hi I saw your post on the Interstitial Cystitis network. I just wanted to give you a little explanation of what IC is. It is not an infection which a Urinary Tract Infection is and can be treated. IC is irritation of the bladder. No one know for sure what causes it and I think it can be different things for different people. I think that one theory is chronic UTI's can cause irritation. Also pelvic floor dysfuntion where your pelvic area is tight. But like I said there is no one sure cause they have found. But if you have IC antibiotics will not cure it. The only thing that helps is diet changes and some get relief from physical therapy. There are drug treatments like Elmiron, DMSO instillations and others. I prefer diet change and I just started pt. I also take Atarax at night to help me sleep and calm my bladder down.
Some symptoms of IC are urgency of urination, burning pain, and frequency of urination.
There is a great website that can give you more info Google The Intestitial Cystitis Network.
If you think you might have IC you need to see a urologist and get a hydrodistention so they can look inside your bladder to see if there is irritation or ulcers. If you do have IC and continue antibiotics it might make you worse. But I am pretty sure fever is not associated with IC.
If you have any questions or want to chat contact me I am more than happy to tell you anything I know about this disorder.
Good luck hope you feel better.
Tori
