I live with my partner and 2 cats.I work for Cornwall County Council part time.I get very fed up,though not depressed,about my Emphysema,but my philosophy is that you have to get on with it and that it's no good giving in.I have 2 daughters,one lives in London and is a solicitor and the other lives nearby and is an occupational Therapist.I love football,my favourite teams for various reasons are Manchester United,Portsmouth and WSest Brom.I like reading,love my cats but would also like a dog.

Close COPD & Emphysema
I used to go running every evening,play tennis,walk miles across the cliffs with my 2 border collies.I went to aerobics twice a week and liked to dance.Then,following the break up of my marriage,my parents,whom I was close to dying and my children leaving to go to uni,I had a brain haemorrhage,The anaesthetic plus me having smoked left me with breathing problems.I lost both of my dogs too because I had to give them away as I couldn't walk them.Now,I get very quickly breathless.
Treatments
- Albuterol Working / Worked
- It definitely works when I am out of breath which is what it's for.I don't appear to have any side effects
- Spiriva Somewhat Helpful
- It's inclined to make me cough.I take it in the morning and then have a bit of a cough which leads to a few sneezes.Other that that,I don't get any other side effects.
