Close Cirrhosis
My husband was diagnosed with Cirrhosis in March. He has been on lactulose since beginning of April 30cc twice a day. End of April was in the hospital with hepatic encephalopathy. Dosage was changed to 3 x day. He was just released from the hospital yesterday because his ammonia level was 50. He was put on Xafaxan 400mg 3 x day along with the lactulose. He hasn't had a bowel movement all day. Is this normal? I am worried that his ammonia level will increase again.
