About Me
I own and operate a native plant nursery so I guess you could say I am nuts about wildflowers. I am married with three grown children and 3 grandchildren + one on the way. I love to photograph wildflowers as well as most things in nature and gardening--its good for the soul. In addition to MDS, I have severe degenerative joint disease, and pulmonary hypertension as a result of multiple blood clots in my lungs.

Close Myelodysplasia
I was diagnosed with MDS in Jan.07 after being monitored by my hematology oncologist for low RBC counts and huge RBC. Aranesp didn't work so I've been on Procrit & Puepogen twice weekly for 1 1/2 years. I am transfusion dependent---every 2 weeks since my blood counts are very low. Waiting for evaluation results for a new course of treatment.
Treatments
- Blood Transfusion Working / Worked
- So far, my treatments of pneupogen & procrit are not working well and I have become TX dependent since Nov 08. I am hoping to begin Revlimid soon so that I may have some hope of a "more normal" life--whatever that may be.
